Products Description:

Sony Starvis 1080P side wing Camera - Side and Front View Camera for Truck Cab Blind Spot Monitoring

The ST-C22A is a compact wedge-style camera designed for mounting on the cab’s exterior—ideally above doors or on the A-pillars. Its low-profile shape minimizes wind noise and drag while providing a critical high-definition view of the truck's immediate surroundings

Why Use a Wedge Camera on the Cab?

  • Side-Swipe Prevention: Perfect for monitoring the "no-zone" alongside the passenger door.

  • Aerodynamics: Reduces wind resistance compared to traditional mirror-mounted cameras.

  • Vibration Stability: The flush-mount design is naturally more stable on bumpy roads, providing a jitter-free image.

Key Technical Performance:

  • Elite Sony Starvis Night Vision: Specifically tuned for night driving. The Sony Starvis sensor excels in pulling detail out of shadows and unlit highway sections. It allows drivers to clearly identify cyclists or smaller vehicles in their side-blind spots, even in low-light rain or snow.

  • Streamlined Wedge Design: Unlike bulky box cameras, the wedge shape fits flush against the vehicle body. This makes it less likely to be struck by tree branches or damaged in tight loading bays, while maintaining the clean look of modern truck cabs.

  • IP69K High-Pressure Protection: Built to handle the harshest cleaning cycles. The housing is fully sealed against 100-bar high-pressure steam cleaning. It’s a "fit and forget" hardware solution for fleets that demand long-term reliability.

  • Precision Mounting with Angled Spacers: Unlike flimsy ball-joint cameras, it uses specialized angled gaskets to set the viewing direction during installation. This ensures the camera stays locked at the correct angle, even on high-vibration heavy trucks, preventing the image from shifting over time.

FAQ:

Q: Can this be used as a front-view camera on the cab?

A: Yes. it works perfectly as a forward-facing blind spot camera to monitor the area directly in front of the truck's grille, which is often invisible to the driver.

Q: How do I adjust the viewing angle of the camera?

A: The camera angle is determined at the time of installation by selecting the appropriate angled spacer (gasket) provided in the kit. By swapping the spacers, you can precisely aim the lens to cover the required blind spot area. Once the screws are tightened, the angle is physically locked in place.

Q: Why use gaskets instead of a rotating lens ball?

A: Rotating lenses often come loose over time due to engine vibration and road shock. Our angled gasket system provides a much more stable and permanent fit. Once installed, the camera angle will never move or sag, making it a "fit and forget" solution for professional fleets.

Q: Can this wedge camera handle high-pressure fleet washing?

A: Yes. it is rated IP69K. The housing and the mounting gaskets are designed to withstand 100-bar high-pressure steam cleaning. It is fully sealed against water, dust, and grime.

Q: Will the lens fog up in extreme cold or humidity?

A: No. We use a nitrogen-filled sealing process for the internal housing. This keeps the air inside completely dry, preventing condensation and fogging when moving between different temperature zones.

Note on Installation: To ensure the best field of view, please select the correct angled spacer from the included kit before final mounting. Once fixed, the angle remains stable even in high-vibration environments.
